If you, your company, or group are interested in volunteering for CEC, please call 765-855-3188 to get more information! CEC welcomes all groups of all ages and sizes!

Volunteer Orientation/Training:

Come and visit us! You will be given a tour of our beautiful property and we will show you all the possible volunteer projects (and you can choose what best suits you!) We will always work with you at the start/training…and are available for questions/info anytime (even if you are interested in a project that you have never done before… we will help train you.)

Service Learning at CEC:

Richmond High School students help clear our wetlands…If you are a teacher of an elementary, middle, or high school and are interested in arranging a service learning project for your class call (765) 855-3188. Volunteer projects can be customized to fit any age and any number of students (we supply tools, gloves, and snacks)

• Gardens/Compost: Continue the planning, planting and care for our gardens as well as improve/update our composting system.

• Public Relations: Working on our website and other social media. Also assisting with new brochures, marketing materials and newsletters.

• Native Prairies: Prairie plant identifications (photograph and record) and Invasive removal.

• Research: Write/research various programs, green building research and research property history.

• Trail Maintenance/Ground Keeping: Keeping our 134 acres beautiful! Clearing and mulching trails, mowing, weed eating and invasive plant removal. Also helping with upkeep on bridges and trimming trees on trials.

• Program Assistant/Internship: Helping various environmental education programs. Including summer camp. As well as assisting with any group tours.

• Volunteer Coordinator Assistant: Assisting with volunteer groups, contacting and arranging volunteers for programs and events.

• Administrative Task: Helping with mailing, answering phones, building tours, data entry etc.
