Lucky’s Turtle Pond

Lucky’s Pond is known for its turtles. Logs by the dam and on the far side of the pond each often host up to 15 sunbathing turtles. Turtles take on the temperature of their surroundings, so sunbathing is a favored pastime activity. Most of the turtles are common painted turtles and an occasional snapping turtle.

Nature Playscape

Our Nature Playscape is designed to let children climb, build, jump, dig and explore in nature. Children and adults of all ages can play a game of checkers, read a book in the shade, or enjoy a family picnic. You can also reserve this space for a birthday party – just call our office at 765-855-3188.

3-Sided Shelter

Have you noticed the three-sided wooden shelter on the wooded side of Kite Pond? It is a delightful place to step out of a rainstorm or sit quietly hidden from view to watch the wildlife. Between the shelter and the pond, you can marvel at all the cypress knees and wonder at their purpose as scientists do – respiration, trunk reinforcement, or starch storage.
